1874 Letter written by Cox relative Samuel Daugherty

June 8, 2015

This letter was also mailed and given to me by Cousin Bonnie Hanks at the same time as the note from Nathan Cox.  This letter was written by Samuel Daugherty from the town of Gualala, Mendocino County, California on November 6, 1874 to an uncle back in Arkansas, but which uncle, I don't know.  You will see references to Nathan Cox and Jesse Cox, who I believe were brothers to our Samuel Cox.  I have enclosed photos of each page written by him as well as a Word document with my own transcription done to the best of my ability.  Once again, please share with the extended family at the reunion and feel free to email anything I send you to anyone who might want it.

You can download a Word document copy of the letter here.
